How To Transition Summer Tops

Can you tell I’ve gone a little gingham crazy? Since my last post, I’ve really embraced the resurgence of this checkered fabric and found another unconventional gingham piece to add to my wardrobe. This darling top from A Day N June, Baltimore’s most curated vintage and boutique showroom, pushes my style boundaries and my ideas about ‘traditional’ gingham looks with longer, rolled, sleeves and a belt that I’ve turned into a necktie. The Dorothy gingham feels a little young and girlish to me, so to spice it up I styled this top with over-the-knee lace up boots and a little midriff.

Work your light summery tops as transition pieces into Autumn by pairing them with warm Fall tones and richly textured fabrics like velvet or fur. I have a couple of shaggy cardigans and velvet skirts that would style beautifully with this gingham button up. Snag this particular top and similar at A Day N June’s funky and fabulous warehouse showroom located off of Pulaski Highway in Baltimore, MD.
